New Life For An Older Home
Take two busy professionals with three teenage children, one dated and dark home, and add in one great design plan and you get a beautiful, cheerful, and bright home that suits this active family to a tee.

The layout of this former inefficient, awkward and very dark kitchen was begging for help! We re-configured the entire layout, added in a beautiful giant island and two 10 foot wide windows. The result -- a new bright and airy kitchen with tons of character and creative function! These wonderful cooks now find meal prep easy and fun and, and adore that the kitchen has become the place where everyone wants to be.
The family room was fully covered in dated wood paneling. This couple loved the warm wood tones and cabin-like feel of the room but hated the dated look of it all and wanted some light and brightness infused throughout the space. We used that as our guide for transforming this very dark room into an inviting, warm retreat from the busy world. The couple loved the neutral color choices that were made along with the added color presented by including interesting accessories and art. We maintained the warmth and rustic sense of the room by still using lots of updated wood features throughout, and then balanced those features with a lighter color palette for the walls and furnishings. The result is a comfortable, warm heart of the house that they enjoy together as a family every day.
The dining room is a very important room for this busy couple since they thoroughly enjoy entertaining. The cheerful feel of the rest of the home transfers seamlessly into this lovely room, saying “welcome” the minute you walk in, and “let the dinner party begin!”
"Working with Andrea was easy and so much fun! She understood our vision immediately and went far beyond our expectations. She always had such creative & thoroughly unique ideas. This was a brand new experience for us and we are so happy with the outcome."
